Aditya Apte - Sarod Player

Aditya Madhusudan Apte is an accomplished Sarod player trained in the Maihar Gharana, known for its depth, discipline, and rich musical heritage. Born into a family of classical musicians, Aditya was introduced to music even before birth by his parents, both respected vocalists. However, it was his heartfelt inclination towards instrumental music that led his parents to consult Pt. Manohar Chimote ji, who recommended that Aditya train under Pt. Pradeep Barot, a senior disciple of Pt. Vasant Rai and Vidushi Maa Annapoorna Devi, the daughter and disciple of the legendary Ustad Allauddin Khan Sahib.

Aditya began his Sarod taalim at the age of six, and for the past 16 years, he has undergone intensive training in the Guru-Shishya Parampara under Pt. Pradeep Barot, a highly respected figure in the Maihar tradition and a graded All India Radio (AIR) artiste. Aditya’s playing is characterized by clarity, emotional depth, and technical finesse, echoing the spiritual and aesthetic principles of the Maihar Gharana. He aspires to pursue Sarod as a full-time profession, dedicating his life to preserving and evolving the legacy passed down by his Gurus.
